Russell is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (The RSA), has an MBA in Leadership, Strategy, and Reputation Management from Henley Business School, and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). He is also a qualified UK Internal Audit Practitioner and a Henry Mintzberg Coaching Ourselves Certified Practitioner. He is a member of the ICA (International Compliance Association), the Governance Institute, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is currently DBS (UK Disclosure and Barring Service) cleared, and previously has been security cleared.

Russell began his career in finance as a management accountant before moving into a variety of internal and external consulting roles. These roles have included process re-engineering, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementations, merger and acquisition, due diligence and post acquisition integration, the creation of internal audit functions and the development of strategy and risk management maturity. He has worked very effectively with a wide range of organisations and enabled them to function more effectively and achieve their objectives by improving not only their functions and processes but also ensuring that their work teams and the individuals within them are appropriately supported and motivated.

Russell has helped to develop and implement change and business improvement/transformation solutions over 25 years for organisations in the UK, throughout continental Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.  He is experienced in sectors as diverse as manufacturing, wholesale, retail, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods), local government, professional services, facilities management and utilities. More recently he has become very involved in helping and advising organisations in the charitable sector. Having worked in external consulting he brings a structured project management method to his work and uses the power of stakeholder engagement to collectively identify and solve problems before developing both sustainable and pragmatic solutions both at both strategic and operational levels.

Russell has held corporate roles within beauty retailer Sally Beauty, media producer Cinram Inc, UK clothing manufacturer and retailer Dewhirst Group Limited and automotive manufacturer Dana Inc. He has also held consulting management roles within Grant Thornton UK LLP.

Allied with his MBA, his considerable business experience gives him an excellent understanding of the strategic and operational objectives of each function within an organisation, and how they can most effectively interact with each other. Through the application of both process improvement and team coaching he helps organisations to improve both their structured and behavioural performance, something which ensures that they can meet their targets and objectives and achieve greater levels of individual and team satisfaction.
