Using the courts to resolve complex family disputes is just like an untrained novice doing some white water rafting  –  it doesn’t look that difficult until you have started and then when it is too late, you realise what you have got yourself into! Hiring or buying the equipment is very expensive and assuming you survive unscathed, you are drenched to the skin.

In contrast, family mediation is like completing a gentle few lengths of a municipal swimming pool. You do have to make an effort but you can pace yourself and you are in control of what you are doing. Your only financial outlay is a modest admission charge and your stress levels are kept to a minimum.
